Hi! My name is Isabel and I’m a writer with a love for writing, literature, art, fashion, history, & travel. I’ve created the blog “Bella Figura” because I fell in love with the Italian phrase in my semester abroad. Literally, “la bella figura” translates to “the beautiful figure,” but figuratively it signifies the saying, “to make a good impression.” In Italian culture this phrase represents a much deeper philosophy; that all things must be presented in the best, most beautiful way possible. Though its exact translation may sound superficial, I understood and fell absolutely in love with the bella figura lifestyle. Every moment is beautiful and every person, place, or thing is worthy. The window washer wears a suit to

work and the barista creates art with every pour. The people of Italy put their heart and soul into everything they do, wear, or say. In other words, I quickly learned that the phrase “Bella Figura” meant so much more than to look presentable; it is a philosophy of putting your best foot forward in order to breed a fulfilling life.

Because I fell so in love with Italian culture and this optimistic way of life, I studied Italian Renaissance Art, Italian culture, Italian style, and so much more. I’ve always wanted to start a blog and I thought here would be the perfect place to begin to write about style, about beauty, becoming the best version of yourself…and the beauties of life.
